1959 AL Game: Bsn. @ Chi.

 August 27, 1959

  The Chicago White Sox exploded for 22 runs in their game against the Boston Red Sox today. The final score was 22-3. It was the most runs scored by any team in a game in MLB this year. It was also the most lopsided win for any team this year.

First baseman Ted Kluszewski had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Chicago White Sox
ballclub embarrassed the Boston Red Sox by the count of 22 to 3.
 
Kluszewski made sure the Chicago fans enjoyed themselves.  He hit a single
which scored a run in the 1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd
inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 6th inning and lined a one-base hit
in the 7th inning.  Chicago lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw
them score 7 runs on 6 hits and the 7th inning with 10 runs on 10 hits.
Chicago had 25 hits overall, while Boston had 7.  
 
Barry Latman(6-8) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Latman got help
from Gerry Staley who was credited with his 6th save.  Frank Baumann(8-5)
absorbed the loss.
