1959 AL Game: Bsn. @ Chi.

 August 26, 1959

  Chicago's Early Wynn became the AL's first 20 game winner today when the White Sox defeated the Boston Red Sox 6-2. Wynn (20-7, 2.64 ERA) went the distance, allowing only 3 hits and 0 earned runs.

Early Wynn tossed a fine 3 hitter as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Boston
Red Sox by the score of 6 to 2 at Comiskey Park.
 
Chicago jumped on top to stay in the 4th inning plating one baserunner on 2
base hits.  Nellie Fox doubled.  Jim Landis was a strikeout victim, unable to
help out.  Sherm Lollar then lashed a single scoring the run.  Chicago rapped
out 9 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The victory went to Wynn(20-7) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Bill
Monbouquette(4-5) was the loser.  He pitched 7 innings giving up 6 hits and 1
walk.
