Here are the NL League Leaders in some of the top categories. Milwaukee's Hank Aaron (.354, 45, 111) continues his quest for the Triple Crown. He and his teammates Eddie Mathews (36, 91) and Billy Bruton (.312) lead the Brave's powerful offensive attack. The pitching staff is also the best in the NL. Warren Spahn, Lew Burdette and Bob Buhl head that mound corps.
Cincinnati's Frank Robinson (.327 BA) and Gus Bell (.323 BA, 103RBI) have shown prowess at the plate. Chicago SS Ernie Banks is 2nd in the NL in homers (39) while being a top-notch fielder. St. Louis Cardinal 3rd baseman Ken Boyer is another top-notch fielder who is 4th in homers (30) and 3rd in RBI (94).
LA's Don Drysdale (19 W, 2.52 ERA, 202 K's) may be the top pitcher in the NL as he is close to netting the pitching Triple Crown.
