1959 NL Game: SF @ Mil.

 May 3, 1959

   The Milwaukee Braves 13 game winning streak came crashing to a halt today. The San Francisco Giants jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning and rolled on to give an 8-0 whipping to the Braves. Johnny Antonelli shutout Milwaukee on 7 hits, picking up his 2nd Win of the season.

Johnny Antonelli whitewashed Milwaukee and third baseman Jim Davenport went
yard as the San Francisco Giants bested the Milwaukee Braves 8 to 0 at County
Stadium.
 
Antonelli(2-2) had a strong outing.  He surrendered only 7 hits and 1 walk in
9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.38.  San Francisco banged out 12 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Lew Burdette(4-2) absorbed the loss.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 7
innings.  Wth the win San Francisco now has a record of 10-9.  With an
impressive recent record of 9-1, Milwaukee hopes this will only be an
isolated loss - followed by another nice run.
