1959 AL Standings and League Leaders

 May 15, 1959

At the close of play today the Detroit Tigers are all alone in 1st place in the AL. The Tigers have been getting excellent hitting and very good pitching. Al Kaline (.387, 10,36) has been putting on an offensive show this season. He's 2nd behind teammate Harvey Kuenn (.400) in BA, 3rd in HR's and 1st in RBI.
The rest of the AL is right behind Detroit in the Standings and a good pennant race is underway.
