First baseman Joe Adcock blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Warren Spahn
completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Milwaukee Braves
topped the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 7 to 2 at County
Stadium.
Adcock provided much of the offense. He clubbed a solo home run in the 4th
inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 5th inning and doubled in the 8th
inning. Milwaukee had 7 hits for the night.
The victory went to Spahn(10-0) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Johnny
Podres(3-4) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around, surrendering 7
runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight' Adcock said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
