Right fielder Roman Mejias touched them all and had 4 RBI as the Pittsburgh
Pirates ballclub embarrassed the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 18 to
8.

Mejias enjoyed a big day at the plate. He laced a base-knock knocking in a
run in the 2nd inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and
delivered a base-hit resulting in a run in the 7th inning. Pittsburgh lit up
the scoreboard in the 2nd inning when they had 12 runs on 9 hits. St. Louis
was out-hit by Pittsburgh, 20 hits to 15.

The win went to Ron Kline(2-3) who allowed 8 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Ernie
Broglio(3-5) was the losing pitcher. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not
allow an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
