1959 AL Standings

 September 1, 1959

   My Detroit Tigers held 1st place for most of this 1959 season until the very last day in July when the Cleveland Indians took the top spot. The Indians have held 1st place for all but 2 days in August. The Chicago White Sox moved into 1st for those 2 days.  

  Now that we've reached the last month of the 1959 season, it looks like a fierce battle for the AL Pennant will be happening. The Tigers have had the most explosive offense and the White Sox the best pitching this year. Chicago had the best record in August, 19-11. The Indians are 2nd in hitting and 3rd in pitching. It should be an exciting last month.
