Willie Mays had 4 hits as the San Francisco Giants really laid it on the Los
Angeles Dodgers 14 to 3.

Mays was really in 'the zone'. He ripped a single in the 4th inning, lined a
one-base hit which was good for two runs in the 5th inning, blasted a Grand
Slam homerun in the 6th inning and smacked a single in the 9th inning. Los
Angeles was out-hit by San Francisco, 14 hits to 7.

Stu Miller(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. The losing pitcher was Stan Williams(2-1). 'It's almost
like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Mays said. 'Whenever I would swing,
the ball found the sweet spot.'
